This is a sling style bag that goes across your back over one shoulder. You can easily access your camera, lenses and accessories without taking the bag off as you can rotate the bag from your back, to the front of your waist. This is handy as you don’t have to take the bag off your back and put it down some where. The bag can hold up to four small (Nikon) lenses and your digital SLR. I say Nikon lenses because in general they are usually smaller than the Canon equivalent. I was able to fit two Canon lenses, a Canon 5dmk2 with 24-105L attached as well as a Canon 580exII into this bag. There is room at the top of the bag for a 500ml bottle of water as well as extra batteries and cards (there’s actually a card holder built into the main compartment cover as well as a cloth for the LCD). You would also have room left for a small P&S in the top compartment. The outside compartment you could fit a small thin guide book in. The main camera compartment is quite secure. In addition to the zipper, there are also two clips securing the main zipper to the bag. These would have to be un-clipped to fully access the main compartment. These can remain clipped if you just want to access your digital SLR with lens attached.

I’ve used this bag a few times but only on short trips. Personally I would not recommend it for traveling since most of the weight bears down on one of your shoulders. If you plan to do a lot of walking and are carrying a lot your shoulders will start to feel the weight. They do offer a strap that goes across the front of your body to help distribute the weight and it helps some what. If you like sling backpacks this is a good option, otherwise, I would recommend a backpack style one. One other good point is the fact that you don’t have to take the bag off to change lenses which is a plus if you’re traveling.
