I’ve been using an old CCM bike bag from way back when on my new road bike and it just didn’t look right. I saw this Lezyne L Caddy seat bag back when I was in Tokyo this past October and really liked it, the price was a bit steep though, $50. I decided to wait till I was back home to look it up online. The price was much more reasonable at $24 USD from nashbar.com. I usually purchase my bike stuff from probikekit.com which has free shipping to Canada but they were out of stock of the Lezyne L Caddy seat bag.
Below are some comparison photos, before and after. The new bag is much slimmer but still holds the same items I had in the old one. The old one is more spacious but the profile of the bag just wasn’t right. The new Lezyne bag fits the bike better. I was a bit worried that the front strap wouldn’t wrap around my carbon seat post but it’s actually just right with still room to spare.

The top two photos at the top are of the old CCM bag and the two below it are of the new Lezyne L Caddy seat bag.
So what was I able to fit in there?
- Multi-tool
- 3 tire levers
- 2 C02 cartridges
- 1 700×23 road tube
- rear road light
- front mount light
- note: you can swap the front mount light for a large cell phone like the iPhone or another spare road tube. The bag still has room for some cash or credit cards.

You’ll see below, the bag has compartments inside it’s two larger ones to separate items. In the large top zipper compartment there is a smaller velcro spot for coins as well as a space to spare one C02 cartridge and two tire levers.

The bottom compartment has a spot for you to put your multi-tool in and then space for things to pile on top of it. I found that if I put the multi-tool in this compartment the other C02 cartridge and its valve didn’t fit right so I threw it all in the compartment together without using the designated “spot” for the multi-tool. You’ll also see there’s quite a lot of room in that top compartment for two spare tubes if you’re not throwing the front mounted light in it. The material used is quite durable and the overall construction good. Not sure how the waterproof zippers will hold up but I don’t usually bike in the rain.

Overall I’m quite happy with the bag and would definitely recommend it. It looks good and is very functional.
